The freelancer trigger outreach

A warm, non-needy first email for freelancers pitching a specific service off a real signal. Under 90 words.

Subject: your new {{page/role}} at {{Company}}

Hi {{FirstName}},

Saw {{Company}} just {{trigger — e.g. launched the new site / posted a content role}}.
Usually that's when {{pain — e.g. the blog stalls because nobody owns it}}.

I'm a freelance {{discipline}} and I've done this for {{similar client}} —
{{quick proof}}.

If it's useful, I can take one thing off your plate this month. Worth a quick note back?

{{YourName}}

Why it works: freelancers win by being timely and low-commitment, not by listing skills. A real trigger shows you noticed them, one proof point builds trust, and offering to take “one thing” off their plate is far easier to say yes to than a contract.

Swap in

  • {{trigger}} — a recent, verifiable event you can point to.
  • {{discipline}} — your exact craft (copywriter, developer, designer).
  • {{quick proof}} — one line of evidence, ideally a number or named client.
